For everything good and for everything bad
I’ll pour this mezcal on the memory of us
bourbon don’t quite cut it
beer just ain’t the speed
the smoke that’s on my tongue
is the taste of you and me
I’ll settle on this bar stool
‘neath the neon halo glow
click these Red Wing heels
hope to fly back to Mexico
where we’re walking through agave fields
Oaxaca City backdrop burning bright
reminiscinin’, sippin’ on good times rolling
through them hills Mayahuel made
All that’s left is an empty glass
to fill more sonder with
at least it tastes like mezcal
that magic, uncanny liquor
washing down this moving on
ain’t so bitter when it’s quicker
So for everything good and everything bad
I’ll pour mezcal on the memory of us
keep them midnight fires blazing
and when morning comes and the bottle’s done
I’ll know it was all worth savouring.
